He is more active and seems healthier and happier. No more rendering plant floor sweepings for my dog!
This product has been the best deal on organic dog food I have found and with the Subscribe and Save, perfect! My 72 pound dog has never refused to eat Newman's Own Organic.
As many people know Jacks are an extremely active breed and keeping weight on them can be a problem. We were feeding Flint River, a very high quality food, both of my jacks were getting 2 cups a day just to maintain a slightly below average weight.
As I had 1 full bag of old formula left, I followed the instructions and guess what, no issues whatsoever with the transition. My dog did NOT get sick at all and has not had a single problem with this food new or old formula. I ordered directly from Pet Food Direct before I saw the negative reviews here. So after delivery, I decided I would make the transition slowly.
They did great on it until yesterday we bought a new bag and they became violently ill after only eating one bowl. This was the only variant in their diet. I was buying it from a small local organic grocery store but they only carried it in the smallest size and I was paying almost twice as much as on Amazon. Now I have it set up on Amazon to ship monthly.
If you read the complaints you will see many people have lost their dogs. They started using one of the very companies for production whose imported food killed so many animals a year or so ago.
She is regular as clock-work. All these plusses make it more enjoyable to be a dog owner. My dog loves it so much that I even use it as a trick when training her. I'll be buying again and again.
I previously fed them Purina One, switched to Blue Buffalo in Dec 06, then Canidae in Feb 07 (food scare for Blue Buffalo). I am very particular about what I give my dogs: dog of 10yrs died/cancer and had 2 knee replacements due to arthritis/joint issues. I've been searching for a no-corn natural dog food to keep skin rashes away...tried Halo which was great but so expensive. This is a little more affordable and the ingredient list looks very similar to Halo, but....oh boy. Just thought some of you might like to know. I am switching them from Iams to something much healthier and I finally think I have a match. I/D was also more expensive than Newman's at my local vet's office. I have had a ton of issues getting my dog to accept other dog foods in the past. Grain has no place in a dog's diet! I searched for a food that wasn't full of preservatives and fillers, and didn't cost $5 a pound.
