Experience Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Training with your Family

By Ashley Phillips

One factor to attain successful cavalier king charles spaniel training is consistency. That's the reason a lot of people believe that training a particular dog needs to be done by one person only to ensure consistency hence prevents confusion. But, since dogs are often deemed as member of the family, it's just right that other family members should join in training too.

If training is done by just one family member only, there's a tendency that the pet will become loyal and obey that specific person alone. For example if dad is the trainer, chances are, your pup won't "go potty" when mom asks him to do so or will not "stop barking" when the daughter becomes aware that he might be disturbing the neighbors due to too much barking.

On the other hand, if everyone in the family is involved in cavalier king charles spaniel training, any of the members can give him command and believe that he will obey and respect them. If dad is not around, mom can surely keep him from doing what he is not supposed to do thus keep him safe in numerous instances. Furthermore, he becomes more sociable if more people train and have direct interaction with him.

Nonetheless, there are lots of things family members should remember to obtain positive training results. First, they need to be aware that dogs must be trained consistently. For instance, if you are currently training him not to jump on people, other family members should do the same. If any of the members permit the deed, it may only lead to confusion thereby defeating the reason for cavalier king charles spaniel training. The same holds true to training commands you are using. Members should use the same words or phrases for each command. Like for example if you're using "go potty" to motivate him to do his business, others must use the same phrase at all times instead of using other phrases like "go potty outside" or "it's time to potty". If you are walking the family pet every morning, you should take turns in doing so the same time each day.

There are tons of ways to make training more enjoyable. One is to ascertain whether or not your furry friend is physically and mentally fit to do different activities since a sick or nervous dog will not learn effectively thus will cause frustration on your part. Let the children offer your pet his reward, be it praise or treat. Just make certain that the kids are old enough to complete the task to prevent potential accidents or injuries.

Cavalier king charles spaniel training is a fantastic family bonding activity but be reminded that they do get exhausted as well hence training session mustn't last more than an hour.
