How to Make Home-Made Food for Your Dog

By Dirk Gruenberg

Keeping their dogs in good health is the number one priority for most dog owners. Good nutrition is a key element on the path to reaching this goal. This is why more and more pet lovers choose the option of homemade food for their pet.

It is very obvious in these days that human health widely depends on our diet and the same is true to almost the same degree for dog.

You should note that there are certain foods that you should not feed your dog, as is true for humans. Maybe he likes them, but they are not good for him: Chocolate and animal fat and of course much more.

Make sure that you use good recipes. Your homemade food should contain each and every ingredient a dog needs to grow healthily instead of suffering from insufficiency.

Puppies need calcium for their bone growth and other nutrition for tissue and muscle growth. You can almost see your puppy grow before your very eyes, so imagine how much nutrition they need to continue good health.

When the dog has stopped the puppy stage it is very active and this also requires quality nutrition, then when the dog is older and muscles and bones are taking longer to regenerate then they need high nutrition and also supplements to keep their bones and organs strong and healthy.

Other then calcium that we mentioned protein and carbohydrates should be an ingredient to any meal that we prepare and serve our dog. This means: Add some meat, veggies and carbs (such as noodles).

The meet should be cooked first until it is nearly done. Only then add the further ingredients and continue cooking for another ten minutes. And here is something important: Do not add salt or other spices.

To make your life easier you can simply make an extra big portion of the meal and freeze whatever you do not need in small packs for use over the week. Cool the leftovers and store in small containers for daily use then freeze.
