How did Dog Training come about

By Colin Seal

In the beginning, long before the benefit of dog training collars , dog obedience was a function of service dog training in Europe. Essentially men who had prior army service did service dog training. As you are all aware, in the military, it's the custom to start marching on the left foot.

Why the left foot is probably lost in ancient times, though it was quite likely thought up by some enterprising ancient soldier so as to enforce army uniformity and make the teaching of marching easier. When the early dog trainers started heeling, they subconsciously began on the left foot as a holdover from their military training. No one challenged this practice, so it became custom.

When obedience coaching without dog training collars moved to America, 2 men drenched in the Western european obedience- service dog customs and started it. They started on the left foot. At first glance, it appears logical the dog can see the left foot move and move with it, so that was the offered reason. Today dogs receive training with dog training collars. The trainers still teach them to start on their left leg and leave the dog sitting on their right leg.

Today there are many research projects going on and there is information coming in from around the world that enlightens us to the ways dogs think and learn. The outcome of these studies are giving creative instructors things to consider and are leading them to think, as just about as possible , from the dog?s viewpoint. This leads to more attempts to modify the coaching methods to fit the dog?s frame of reference instead of the instructors. Dog training collars is an excellent example of creative thinking and modified training techniques.

Performance is a kinetic learning experience. This is correct for both humans and the dog. Memorizing motor movements results into automated action. Replies to motor movements also become automatic over a period. Knowing this should help you research possible problems and work out ways to fix them with dog training collars.
